Get to Know Areej Almas, DMD
Dr. Almas is a West Hartford native! Her dental journey has come full circle at Blue Back Dental, where she shadowed Dr. Wu and Dr. Liz Holzhauer over 10 years ago. Dr. Almas observed the exceptional quality of dental services and personalized care given to each patient. She feels honored to serve the patients at Blue Back Dental and give back to the residents of her town and the greater community.
Where Did Dr. Almas Study Dentistry?
Dr. Almas attended the University of Connecticut and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Thereafter, she completed her dental education and training at the Temple University-Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Almas further pursued advanced training in a general practice residency at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She believes in building strong relationships with her patients as a foundation for achieving long-term optimal oral health. She is passionate about educating her patients using evidence-based research and practices a personalized approach to delivering quality dental treatments. Her goal is to restore oral health, function, and balance to create beautiful, harmonious smiles. She is a perfectionist when it comes to her work!
Outside of the Dental Office, What Does Dr. Almas Like to Do?
Aside from the practice of clinical dentistry, Dr. Almas dedicates her time to mentoring many pre-dental and dental students on their journey, volunteering at CT-MOM events, and participating in oral health education outreach trips abroad. Outside the office, she enjoys creating digital art, doing calligraphy, relaxing while in nature (Elizabeth Park is a favorite!), exploring new cultures and cuisines on her travels, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
